How to Reply to an Email in Microsoft Outlook
Follow these simple steps to reply to an email in Microsoft Outlook.
Step 1: Open Outlook
Click on the Outlook icon on your desktop or from the Start menu to open the application.
Step 2: Go to Your Inbox
In the left-hand menu, click on the Inbox folder to view your incoming emails.
Step 3: Open the Email You Want to Reply To
Click on the email you want to reply to. This will open the email so you can read it and begin your reply.
Step 4: Click "Reply"
Once the email is open, look for the Reply button, usually located at the top of the email window. It may appear as a button with a left-pointing arrow. Click it to start your reply.
Step 5: Write Your Response
After clicking "Reply," a new message window will appear with the sender's email address already filled in. Type your response in the large text box below the original message. You can add text, attachments, or even use formatting options like bold or italics if needed.
Step 6: Send Your Reply
Once you’ve written your reply, click the Send button at the top of the message window. Your reply will be sent to the original sender.
Step 7: Check Your Sent Items (Optional)
If you'd like to confirm that your reply was sent, go to the Sent Items folder in Outlook. You will see a copy of your sent reply there.
